Crochet Classes & Workshops

Instructor: Carmen    Cost: $38 

Class Includes all needed materials 

We offer individual and small group beginner crochet classes that are limited to 10 students (ages 16 & up.)

The class is two 1 hour sessions that are a week apart..

Session 1: Students will learn to make a slip knot, chain & single crochet.

Session 2: Students will learn half-double and double crochet stitches and how to switch colors.

With 15 years of experience as an elementary educator, Carmen has designed the child beginner crochet lessons into small sessions so students are not overwhelmed, but can process new stitches over time. The lessons described below should be scheduled about a week apart. This allows time for students to practice between sessions.

Class Includes all needed materials 

Session #1, 90 minutes:

Students learn how to make a slip knot, chain stitch, and single crochet. During this lesson students learn about the importance of holding tension and discover what method for holding the yarn works best for them. 

Sessions #2, 90 minutes: 

During lesson 2, progress from previous lesson will be checked and the student will learn how to make a half-double crochet stitch and the double crochet stitch.

Yarn included- up to three colors 

Ages: 10-15

Student must be proficient at chaining, slip stitch, single crochet and double crochet.

Needed Materials:

Yarn included  (3 skeins Cascade Anthem. Student chooses colors)

*Student brings 4.5mm hook. Hooks can be purchased at Yarn Together for $4.25 each + tax.
